Sagenta

Terms of service

Draft for review. Last updated 2 September 2026.

These terms are the agreement between Sagenta (“we”, “us”) and anyone who creates an account, accepts an invitation, or installs the widget (“you”). They are written to be read. If you agree to them on behalf of a company, you are saying you may do that.

What Sagenta is

Sagenta captures requests for changes to a website from the people who own it, hands those requests to whoever looks after the site, shows the owner a preview when one is ready, and records the owner’s approval. It works through the application at app.sagenta.com, a widget you place on a site, an API, and the email we send.

What Sagenta never does

Sagenta does not change your website. It does not edit code, publish pages, or deploy anything. Every change is made by you, your developer, your tools, or your build pipeline, and only you decide what goes live. An approval recorded in Sagenta is a record that the owner said yes to a particular preview; it is not an instruction we carry out.

Your account

You sign in with an emailed link or a passkey. You are responsible for the email address and the devices you use to sign in, and for what people you invite do with their access. Tell us straight away at security@sagenta.com if you think an account has been used without permission.

The sites you connect

You may connect a site only if you own it or look after it with the owner’s permission. You are responsible for the content of that site and for what the people you invite are shown. You may place the widget only on pages where the people who see it have agreed to be there in that role; the widget shows nothing to ordinary visitors, but the page is captured when an invited person uses it, so do not put it on pages that hold other people’s private information without blanking those parts.

What we send to your systems

If you connect an endpoint, a Slack channel, an automation service or the API to your account, we will send requests, notes, previews and approvals there as they happen, signed so you can check they came from us. Once delivered, that data is in your systems and under your policies. Keep your signing secrets and API keys private; if one leaks, revoke it in the application and we will stop honouring it at once.

Your data

What you put into Sagenta is yours. We hold it to run the service, as the privacy page describes, and for nothing else. You can export it through the API at any time, and ask us to delete it.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will run the service with care, keep it available, keep your data safe, and tell you about problems promptly. The service is offered as it is, though, and we cannot promise it will never be down, never lose a message, or suit every purpose. In particular, a request you make through Sagenta is a request to the people who look after your site; whether and when they act on it is between you and them.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to what you paid us in that time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Paying for it

During early access there is no charge. When paid plans begin we will tell you in advance what they cost and give you the choice to continue or close your account. Nothing will start being charged without your saying so.

Ending

You can close your account whenever you like from the application, or by writing to us. We can end your access if you break these terms, misuse the service or put other people at risk, and we will say why. When an account closes we delete its data as the privacy page describes, and any data already delivered to your own systems stays where it is.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, people with accounts get an email at least fourteen days before the change applies. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, close your account before then.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Sagenta is established, and any dispute is heard in its courts. The governing law and address will be stated here before early access ends.
